The small business I run started life as a translator’s cooperative in 1985 in Brussels, but when in 2015 I decided to move back to Lisbon for family reasons I had to convert it into a registered society with only two members.

I prefer working solo. However, when the need arises, I do know other colleagues who are willing to lend a hand - or a word or two.

Informal partnerships on a case-by-case basis have worked well enough for me.

This is a case where you would have to have some very good reasons to get bogged down in endless formalities. Usually not worth the trouble.
