"CONNECTING CLASSROOMS" CONFERENCE
How do we support the children and young people of our countries to become active citizens of the future? This is the question that was discussed by 170 educational experts, officials and practitioners, from over 15 countries in the Middle East and North Africa, and the UK, who attended the British Council’s Connecting Classrooms Conference from 7 to 9 July. The conference aims at drawing out, how those working in education, can support children and young people develop their skills and understanding of a global culture, so that they can contribute positively, both in life and work, to a global society. 14 participants from Morocco attended this event that celebrated the closing of the Innovative Approaches to Learning and ICT in Education Regional Project.
MOROCCAN SPORTS WOMEN IN THE UK
Thanks to the British Council 6 Moroccan sports women are visiting the UK (London) from 19 to 19 July under the exchange programme of the Women@Work regional project. The 6 sports women will be introduced to a network of influential professional women, with years of experience and valuable insights into the world of work. W@W project is about encouraging young women in the Near East and North Africa region and the UK to explore career options in order to contribute as equals to the development of their societies.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
A group of Moroccan experts in quality assurance in Education attended The First International Conference International Conference of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education entitled "The Academic Standards and the Path towards Quality and Accreditation" 21-22 June at Al Azhar Conference Centre in Cairo. The objectives of the conference were to develop awareness of quality accreditation in educational institutions, present the academic standards in a number of educational sectors and strengthen regional and international collaboration in quality assurance.Morocco experts presented and discussed the academic reference standards in Dentistry, Physics and Engineering and talked about the current status and future goal of the quality assurance in Morocco.
SCHOOL VISITS
During May and June the British Council in Casablanca was visited by many primary schools. The visits enable children to practice English in a fun way-giving them an overview of United Kingdom. Different activities have been arranged for the students like storytelling in the garden, visiting the Go4English website, quizzes and presentations about our services. The children also tried the new software "Genki English" and did fun running dictations. Their teachers of English have the opportunity to learn more about our training courses as well. GO4ENGLISH: MOROCCAN TEACHING SUPERVISORS ICT TRAINING PROGRAMME
In association with the Moroccan Ministry of Education, Project GENIE, and CNIPE, the British Council is commencing a program of workshops on the ICT in the classrooms. The aim is to work collaboratively with Moroccan teaching supervisors to determine what ICT resources can be of use and included in a national syllabus. This will be achieved via a series of workshops and by using an E-learning online Network.
OUMAYMA BOUALLA IN THE WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM
Oumayma Boualla, a young activist, represented Morocco in the World Economic Forum on Africa in Cape Town, South Africa from 4 to 6 June. The Forum works with the British Council to identify leaders from the region’s predominantly young population to share their aspirations and concerns with more than 1,500 participants. "Being part of the British Council’s "Road to Davos" program really changes my life because it broadens my horizons by offering me a unique opportunity to meet other young people worldwide and to attend events like the WEF Africa a young person wouldn’t be able to go to otherwise." Says Oumayma.

ندوة حول موضوع التقريب بين الاقسام المدرسية
ناقش حوالي 170 مشارك من خبراء و مهتمين و معنيين بالشأن التربوي ينتمون الى أزيد من 15 بلد ناقشوا اليات دعم الاطفال و الشباب الممدرس وتكوينهم بحيث يصبحون قادرين على الانتاج في المستقبل وذلك على هامش ندوة نظمها المركز الثقافي البريطاني من 7 الى 10 يونيو و تدارست موضوع التقريب بين الاقسام المدرسية.
وانكب المشاركون في الندوة على التفكير في اليات الدعم التي يمكن أن يقدمها العاملون بالحقل التربوي الى الاطفال و الشباب الممدرس بحيث يستطيعون الرفع من مهاراتهم و فهمهم للثقافة العالمية حتى يساهمون مساهمة فعالة في الحياة اليومية و المهنية من أجل مجتمع عالمي متطور.
وقد حضر الندوة , التي احتفل منظموها بنجاح تطبيق المقاربة الابتكارية للتعلم و تقنية التواصل و الاعلام ضمن مشروع التعليم الجهوي ,14 مشارك يمثلون المغرب .

رياضيات من المغرب في زيارة الى المملكة المتحدة
في اطار برنامج التبادل الثقافي وضمن المشروع الجهوي لدعم المرأة تقوم 6 رياضيات مغربيات بزيارة الى العاصمة البريطانية من 9 الى 19 من شهر يونيو حيث سيستفدن من دورات تكوينية تحت اشراف نساء ذات خبرة عالية .
ويهدف المشروع الى دعم الفتيات بالشرق الادنى و افريقيا الشمالية و بريطانيا عبر استكشاف مجموعة من الخبرات المهنية حتى يتسنى لهن المساهمة في تطور مجتمعاتهن .

ندوة حول جودة التأمين
شارك خبراء مغاربة مهتمون بالحقل التربوي في الندوة الدولية الاولى حول جودة التأمين و التي دارت أشغالها بين 21 و 22 من شهر يونيو بمركز الازهر للندوات بالعاصمة المصرية القاهرة وكان موضوعها "المعايير الاكاديمية والطريق الى الجودة و المهنية ".
ويروم منظمو الندوة الى تعزيز الوعي بالجودة و المهنية في المؤسسات التعليمية حيث تم عرض المعايير الاكاديمية في مختلف الحقول الدراسية و كذا سبل تمتين التعاون الاقليمي و العالمي فيما يخص جودة التأمين.
و قد ناقش الخبراء المغاربة المشاركون في الندوة المعايير الاكاديمية لتخصصات طب الاسنان و الفيزياء و الهندسة كما تطرقوا أيضا الى الوضع الحالي لجودة التأمين بالمغرب و أفاقها في المستقبل.

رحلات مدرسية الى المركز الثقافي البريطاني
قام تلاميذ ينتمون الى عدد من المؤسسات التعليمية الابتدائية خلال شهري ماي و يونيو بزيارة المركزالثقافي البريطاني بمدينة الدار البيضاء .وقد شكلت تلك الرحلات فرصة للتلاميذ لممارسة اللغة الانجليزية بطريقة مسلية حيث قدمت لهم نبذة عامة عن المملكة المتحدة.كما شاركوا في عدد من الانشطة المدرسية شملت حكي القصص بباحة المركز والولوج الى موقع المركز لتعلم اللغة الانجليزية و الاطلاع على نماذج من اختبارات في اللغة الانجليزية و الخدمات التي يقدمها المركز كما تعرف التلاميذ على طريقة استخدام برنامج الحاسوب الجديد لتعليم الانجليزية الذي أطلقه المركز حيث شاركوا في مسابقات الاملاء.
وكانت تلك الزيارات مناسبة تعرف خلالها الأساتذة على الطرق البيداغوجية المعمول بها بالمركز .هذا و يمكن للأساتذة الراغبين في زيارة المركز،الاتصال بنا.

دورة تكوينية لفائدة مفتشي التعليم المغاربة
ينظم المركز الثقافي البريطاني بشراكة مع وزارة التربية بالمملكة المغربية ومشروع CNIPE وGENIE دورة تكوينية تشمل مجموعة من الأوراش حول تقنية التواصل و الاعلامICT و تطبيقها في الأقسام المدرسية .ومن بين الأهداف المسطرة لهذه الدورة العمل جنبا الى جنب مع مفتشي التعليم المغاربة لتحديد المراجع التي يمكن استنباطها من تقتية التواصل و الاعلام و الحاقها بالمقرر المدرسي المغربي .

أميمة تمثل المغرب بالمنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي
مثلت الشابة أميمة المغرب بالمنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي حول افريقيا و الذي انعقد بالعاصمة الجنوب افريقية كيب تاون ما بين 4 و6 يونيو.ويعمل المنتدى بتعاون مع المركز الثقافي البريطاني التعريف بزعماء القارة التي يغلب على تركيبتها السكانية الفئة العمرية الشابة.وشكل المنتدى مناسبة لأكثر من 1500مشارك لتبادل اهتماماتهم وطموحاتهم.
و تقول أميمة متحدثة عن مشاركتها:" ان المشاركة في برنامج الطريق الى داغوس قد غير من حياتي حيث توسعت افاقي و أتاح لي فرصة اللقاء بشباب من مختلف البلدان و كذا حضور حدث عالمي كبير من حجم المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي حول افريقيا".
