Experience
Years of experience: 7. Registered at ProZ.com: May 2015.
In 2009 life has brought me from the UK to Belgium where I live ever since. As a Romanian native speaker with an affinity to Germanic languages, Dutch was easy to pick up. The 12 years of English I received in school combined with being native in a Latin-based language have provided great help in reaching C1 level for Dutch granted by the University of Gent.
In fact, I enjoyed the teaching method of the University of Gent so much so that in 2019 I began a course for sworn translators and interpreters. In June 2020 I successfully completed it.
Al my life I had an interest in Law and Psychology. Fortunately, I have been granted the privilege to be connected to both fields through my work. In "Flavia Teodosiu" Law Office where I was working as a secretary my talent for translation has been "discovered". Later, in 2013 I had the chance to work in my other field of interest - psychology. During the 6 years of being a medical secretary in the mental health centre Prisma in Ostend I had the opportunity to encounter all kinds of interesting situations and be acquainted to the field's terminology.
Currently I am trying to give a new turn to my life in the translations sector where I have been active since 2016. It is the logical conclusion of my life so far. Why choose just one field of interest when I can be active in all of them through translations?
