English to French: production of biofuel from microalgae Optimisation of the process of Transesterification General field: Tech/Engineering Detailed field: Engineering (general)
Source text - English production of biofuel from microalgae Optimisation of the process of Transesterification
The atmospheric pollution took a world wide effect, in particular the increase of carbon dioxide gaz following the intensive use of fossil fuels. The ecological impact is currently so severe that urgent measures need to be taken. (Fig 1)
Many approaches have been studied for this matter in order to decrease our impact as well as meeting the growing needs of humanity in energy.( Fig 2). The main promising solution for these problems is renewable energy, green sources of energy with little to no global warming gas emission which are in addition to that unlimited in time thanks to their renewable nature, among these resources we find solar power, wind, sea , biofuel, etc .
The production of biofuel attracted considerable attention in the recent past as a fuel that can contribute to diminishing our dependence to fossil fuels.
The conventional Biofuel is mainly made from soya oil, palm oil or sunflower oil, also from waste oil.
The number of carbons in fossil fuels is 15 similar to vegetable oils which is between 14-18 carbons, The structure of biofuel imply that it could be an excellent substitute for fossil fuels.
This being said the use of certain crops is found to be ethically questionable and presents a competition for the food industry, Let's not forget that nourishment is one of the world priorities just as important as global warming.
Thus other intensive researches have been conducted to find an alternative fit for the global issues, the research was orientated towards microorganisms, that have been favorably considered for their short period of reproduction, high lipid content as well as the broad molding possibilities by biotechnological means.
