The jetting race is a machine which when connected to a water based pressure source and has sheep passing through it, applies the pesticide to the body of each sheep as required by the above description. It is a quick and efficient way to treat large numbers of sheep.

Automatic jetting races have application in fly treatments but are not recommended for treatment of lice in sheep. The concern is that the machines do not sufficiently ‘wet’ sheep to achieve effective chemical coverage. For lice eradication using dipping products, sheep must be thoroughly wetted to skin level, which requires several minutes in a shower dip or complete immersion by plunge dipping.
