Upgrade from trados studio 2017

hi everyone,

is it possible to upgrade from trados studio 2017 to the newest version or do i have to purchase a new license as if i am a new trados user ?

Also is there a way to not lose my translation memories ?

Have you tried visiting the RWS Trados website, searched for their different license options? You won't use your translation memories.

I check their website and they only talk about upgrading from version 2021 2022. Jul 16, 2024

i dont see anything from people who are currently working with trados studio 2017

Find a pale gray field that reads "Write a short subject for your question or discussion". Type "Can I upgrade from Trados 2017 to Trados 2024?" and click Post. In the next window, describe your query in more details and post it.

You won't use your translation memories.
I believe here is a typo. You won't lose your translation memories.

For upgrades with the Trados Studio Freelance perpetual version (if you don't like annual subscriptions), the oldest version is currently Trados Studio 2019 Freelance, and even then it's only a $100 upgrade discount:

And it seems that there is STILL no dark mode in Trados 2024, so no upgrade for me as my version works fine so far, and I don't need to be empowered by a built-in AI Assistant or improved cloud capabilities.

Hi Alseif, did you succeed in upgrading from Studio 2017 to a newer version? I have to upgrade my license but it seems I can't do it... Did you have to buy the new version as a new user?
