Hello,

I have received the following email and a few other after this one. All of them use a professional language and there's nothing suspicious about the content, except for the fact that their email address is a gmail one and the fact that there is no mention whatsoever in the official website (getblend.com) of offices or affiliates in Argentina. Hello,

I have received the following email and a few other after this one. All of them use a professional language and there's nothing suspicious about the content, except for the fact that their email address is a gmail one and the fact that there is no mention whatsoever in the official website (getblend.com) of offices or affiliates in Argentina. I contacted the official website, but I haven't received a response. Just a few minutes ago, they sent me an NDA which is a generic blank form downloaded from the internet.

Am I being paranoid here or is there something suspicious? The fee seems rather generous as well ($0.30/word), but the material is rather complex.

Greetings

All three 'features' clearly indicate that this is scam.

BTW, it would be quite useful to indicate if this 'offer' has been sent via ProZ.com or no.

Thanks for the answer.

I didn't receive it through proz.com, I would have stated so if that was the case. Anyway, I emailed them back about the blank NDA and I got a one-line response "Proceed with the translation". Needless to say, that's pretty conclusive.

Some years ago (when I worked for them), the previous name of Get Blend was One Hour Translation (OHT), with HQ located at Washington, D.C., USA.
Sometime later, they went through some financial issues (they were even forbidden to post jobs here at Proz!) so they got some investors from Tel Aviv, Israel, and decided to change the name (clean their image.)
By 2021, their rates had plumbed, and their communication muted, so I requested all my pending payments and never worked with them again.

Online reviews about them as OneHourTranslation are bad:
https://www.pissedconsumer.com/one-hour-translation/RT-F.html
https://www.indeed.com/cmp/One-Hour-Translation/reviews?fcountry=ALL
Their Blueboard is several years old, and it's also bad. > https://www.proz.com/blueboard/25307.
And their business profile shows their Israeli partners: https://www.proz.com/business/32827-blend-localization.

IMO, they are unreliable and wouldn't recommend working with them, so it seems very strange to me that a scammer has chosen to impersonate this agency with bad reviews/reputation.

No doubt about it. I emailed them back saying as much. Naturally, I never got a response.
