Options for offline electronic dictionaries for NAATI translation test

Dear colleagues,

I know this topic has been discussed previously, but the last reply was entered in 2019.
I will sit the NAATI test soon and I'm still lost as to what 'offline electronic dictionaries' I am allowed to use.


If someone has done the NAATI test recently, I would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.
My language direction is Port>Eng.

Who uses them any more? You should be allowed to research terminology online, just as you would in real life.

NAATI is the Australian standards and certification body for linguists.

I agree that we should be allowed to research terminology online, just as you would in real life but that is not NAATI's policy.

I was allowed to use a dictionary previously installed on my computer that could be accessed from my desktop only!

There was a term I had no idea what it was and I was in the dark with that one.
Now, fingers crossed waiting for the results that can take up to ten weeks.

How did you go with the test? I'm a CT from English to Vietnamese and I'm going to take the test for the other direction.

NAATI results Aug 5, 2022

Hi Nguyen,

I passed! I received the results 3 weeks ago.
Although my first language is Portuguese, 99% of my work is from Portuguese into English, and that is why I decided to have the NAATI certification.
