Talked in my sleep Feb 9, 2013

My husband used to tell me that I talked in my sleep in Portuguese. One time he reported that I kept saying the Portuguese equivalent of "You Tarzan, Me Jane!"

Yes, frequently Feb 9, 2013

In French (often, but I live in Belgium) and in English (less often). I even dreamt once in Japanese (Whoops, I don't actually speak Japanese: is there a psychiatrist in the house?)...

@Teresa
This is obviously very Freudian -- a deep-down burning desire to travel to the ends of the Earth and visit Kyoto.
Doctor Julian's advice: Keep on dreaming away. You just might make it here and I would love to show you around.

Now, if I could get back to last night's dream -- it was very wicked and my Kyoto dialect was amazing!

Frequently Feb 9, 2013

Am not sure how often. My ideal category would be "sometimes".

Yes Feb 9, 2013

I've found my dreams mirror real life. If I'm dreaming about someone I usually speak Spanish with, that'll be the language of the dream. The same happens with English and Catalan. It seems that my brain has everyone compartmentalized and that's it.

I would say most of the time Feb 9, 2013

I was born and raised in Denmark and live here rignt now, so I'm labelled native Danish speaker.

However, we speak English at home and I dream in English most of the time.

PS: Julian, I love your comment!

It depends on where I am ... Feb 9, 2013

... In Thailand I dream in Thai most of the time and the same goes for Vietnamese, when I am in Vietnam. When I was in the UK, my dreams were mostly in English, too. Once I also found myself speaking Vietnamese with a strong Southern accent in a dream, though I normally only speak in standard (Northern) Vietnamese and find it difficult to imitate a Southern accent when I am awake. In Germany, however, my dreams are almost always in German. It's always the same - after a few days in another count... See more

I was born Feb 9, 2013

in Chile, but I grew up and studied in Italy, where I live.
It happens sometimes I dream in Spanish, usually because the charcters of the dreams are me and my realatives who speak only Spanish.
The best was when I dreamt my unlce became the Presindent od the USA, and we celebrated the election with a barbecue in the White House garden.

If I think something I always "do" in Spanish... is counting cash<
