But, of course, I voted for "Full time translator". | | | Susanna Martoni Itália Local time: 22:20 Membro (2009) espanhol para italiano + ...
Full time translator. Could not do anything else in this moment. I think I am very lucky to have such an opportunity even if this is, to me, a very particular and uncertain period. | | | Marlene Blanshay Canadá Local time: 16:20 Membro (2009) francês para inglês + ... freelance full time | Apr 12, 2010 |

Full time translator | Apr 12, 2010 |
I am just starting out, but I absolutely love being a freelance translator and I can't imagine doing anything else. | | | in-house allowed to work from home most of the time | Apr 12, 2010 |
Best employment is a full-time in-house contract with permission to work from home most of the time. | | | Paul Adie (X) Alemanha espanhol para inglês + ... Part-time in-house translator | Apr 12, 2010 |
The best for me is working as a part-time in-house translator in the morning, from 9 to 2. Then you can work as a freelancer in the evening, go do shopping, whatever you want. I used to work these hours and I loved it, I was earning enough to live and save, was getting experience and had extra time to do whatever I pleased. Now I work in-house, but from 1 to 6. This is tougher to work around, especially for lunch, but I still have time to study in the mornings. Happy translating! ... Sara Senft Estados Unidos Local time: 16:20 espanhol para inglês + ... Other--translation/interpretation and a related job | Apr 12, 2010 |
I chose 'other.' My ideal situation would be primarily translation/interpretation and a part-time related non-freelance job. | | | Full-time freelancing | Apr 12, 2010 |
I've been making a good living out of freelance translating since I started out two and a half years ago and I still love everything about it. As things stand at the moment, I'd be happy doing this for the rest of my working life as I get to work as much (or as little) as I like and still fit in plenty of social and other activities, travel, etc. | | | Tatty Local time: 22:20 espanhol para inglês + ... Several activities | Apr 13, 2010 |
In my experience it is really difficult to combine anything with freelance translation, even giving classes becomes difficult. For me the option of parttime in house and parttime freelance would not be feasible. | | | Free lance and retired with a pension from full-time | Apr 14, 2010 |
