Hi everybody,
this might have been discussed before and it might be explained in the Multiterm User Guide (which I searched without any result), but it is quite urgent. I received a Termbase from a client, that I updated during translation and I have to sent back above files. I assume that it is probably only one click to create them all at once, but as I don't know much about Multiterm, I cannot find how. I already searched the USer Guide, but didn't find any helpful tips. Could anyone te... See more

TM files instead? May 21, 2007

You probably were sent a translation memory (TM) instead of a termbase and they are all TM files. The txt file is the export of the TM (Export feature in Workbench).

You can search your computer for these extensions to locate the relevant files.

Sending back all these files is not a standard procedure as the customer can update the TM on their side just by cleaning the bilingual file.

Dear Phillipe,

that's definitely a great idea! I don't know why I was convinced that they meant the MT files (and to be honest, I didn't know the extensions of the TM files), but this definitely saved my evening, as I was already panicking...

Sometimes it can be so easy....

You can also use MultiTerm to export the contents of a MutiTerm file into a text file, then you should not have a problem finding the correct data.

If it is a TM file, then the simplet is to open the TM in the Workbench and export the contents into a (yet another) txt file - and again you decide yourself how it will be called and where it will reside.

Dear Vito,
thanks very much for your commnet. They sent as usual TM and MT, but only wanted the TM back, not the Multiterm files. I just mixed it up because I never paid attention to the extensions.
