English term

dip

English Art/Literary Slang American novel
Do you want to dip and cog the whole wax ball?

If cog means find out/understand, what does dip stand for?

Thanks!

Dip. immerse it in something

To dip and to cog a wax ball would mean dipping it in something and adding cogs to the out side.

Could you give some idea as to what the subject is about please?

A cog is a tooth on a wheel and can also be on a ball or most other objects.

you could dip a wax ball into something hot that will put cogs on the outside of it.

If I went for a dip, than I went for a swim.
If he was a bit of a dip, than he is a bit stupid.
We can also have a dip in the road. (a hollow section like a small causeway.)
Dip your finger in the pie, put it in the pie.
dip your head as you walk under the pipe, duck your head, bend your head down.
So many dips...
