how to influence other
A short text about the way Einstein was able to influence others.
"This" refers to the fact that usually people prefer to speak (about themselves) than to listen and one can make friends and influence them just through listening.
Einstein knew this and realized he could influence others by choosing his spots to speak and validating others by extending them the courtesy of listening.
Does the term "spots" refer here to a place, a subject, a specific time or something else?
What does "validate" means in this context (to value? to give importance?)
Sorry 2 questions in one ;-))
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I don't think this refers to a place, though I can see why you might think it does. As for 'validate', I think this means, in this context, 'making the other person feel of value'.
