How do you call this thing that has a radio, a tape recorder and a CD player or CD changer, all in one? (I'm especially interesred in the name used in manuals) Music centre? or is it called something else?

audio system
mine is called a "Hi-Fi component system" but I think that AUDIO SYSTEM depicts it better because all elements are AUDIO after all,
radio, CD and tape.
radio, CD and tape.

music centre/compact hi-fi/mini hi-fi
music centres usually had a turntable as well, and were popular in the seventies.
The modern ones just do CD, radio and cassette and get sold as "music systems", or "compact/mini hi-fi (systems)"

I think you have to say compact audio system as opposed to just audio system in order to distinguish between a single unit and a system made up of separate components (amplifier, tuner, CD player etc)
