Over the past years, the need for capacity building and training focused on specialized law enforcement to conduct and complete drug control operations became well recognized by the international community and there are a growing number of counter narcotics training courses conducted in and around the region through various schemes. This is a welcome trend, but there is also a need for better coordination and sequencing of counter narcotics training to maximize the collective impact of the training.
