Italian term

imperniatura

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Metallurgy / Casting jewellery
I'm translating a catalogue for a firm that makes jewellery, in particular medals, bracelets, pendants.

In the same sentence as the previous question, the problem term is IMPERNIATURA

Il prodotto è realizzato tramite tecnica di tranciatura, saldatura di riporti in oro bianco e rosso, lucidatura, diamantatura e imperniatura.

another example:
.... diamantatura e imperniatura del Cristo fuso.

I found the term "pinning" (don't remember where), but I'm not convinced as I can't find it on English-language jewellery sites.
Proposed translations (English)
3 pivoting, hinging

pinning Thanks to all for the help. After numerous requests (and Italian public holidays) the customer has confirmed that it is actually PINNING, as I had suggested at first.

that's it, there are pages and pages of these things. All the ones with "imperniatura" have little tags for hanging them on a chain

The thing they are attached to for hanging is actually called a "bail"

Here it is http://www.cavinatodino.com/product/rettangolo-sabbiato-e-di...
I assume imperniatura is the addition of the thing sticking out of the top.

What is the product? Pivoting/hinging do seem like the obvious choices.

Thanks, I already found those but don't know if they are suitable for jewellery.
