Os seguintes problemas podem afetar o desempenho em passagens de minério, segundo Hambley (1987):
1. Entupimentos (blockages) devido a arcos coesivos.
2. Bloqueios (hang-ups) devido a arcos mecânicos.

Discussion
There are various types of flow problems with silos and I believe the term "morto" is a general term referring to material that is not being recovered. As such, I chose to use the term "stagnant zone".
The term pops up three times in the document. Reading it in context I suspect it may have something to do with a "dead zone" created inside the ore silos by the way the ore falls.
