Making backups
Hi all,
I'm translating a manual on prevention of money laundering for internal use by a bank. I'm currently working on the section which describes the procedures for backing up databases and the following section is giving me some problems:
• Todos los días se lanzan copias de seguridad tanto del ordenador de Producción como de Desarrollo.
I'm unfamiliar with the technical context here and would appreciate any suggestions for ordenador de Producción and ordenador de Desarrollo.
Thank you.

Ordenador es computadora o servidor. Server sería el término apropiado.

Production and Development environments/tiers
What I think they are referring to here is making daily backups of the data from both the Production and the Development tiers of the system.
In software deployment, an environment or tier is a computer system in which a computer program or software component is deployed and executed. In simple cases, such as developing and immediately executing a program on the same machine, there may be a single environment, but in industrial use the development environment (where changes are originally made) and production environment (what end users use) are separated, often with several stages in between, in order to allow phased deployment (rollout), testing, and rollback in case of problems.
