Discussion

George BuLah (X) Nov 26, 2013:
Thank you, Asiu!

asia20002 (asker) Nov 26, 2013:
Thank you for the discussion. Yes, comparison to the library is quite good because it may be not just technical buying shares but also incorporating a store chain into the group.
George BuLah (X) Nov 26, 2013:
Let me compare the situation with the library's acquisition where acquisition consists of purchasing books/journals, then processing them and... shelving... side by side :).
All leads to the enlargement of library's collections/holdings ...
so I strongly support - the "acquisition" in Asia's context.

asia20002 (asker) Nov 26, 2013:
This is a group but has Capital Group in its name so I left it. It is not THIS capital group, a Polish one.
Frank Szmulowicz, Ph. D. Nov 26, 2013:
The Capital Group is an investment group: Capital Group is one of the world's largest investment management organizations with assets of around one trillion USD under management. Investment groups do not merge, I think, with retail chains. They simply acquire companies and manage their investments. A take-over is a rather violent act.
asia20002 (asker) Nov 26, 2013:
Probably an acquisition but should I check it on the Internet and change the original sentence?
ViBe Nov 26, 2013:
That (M&A) or ... ... takeover. Who knows?
asia20002 (asker) Nov 26, 2013:
I believe it was an acquisition in all cases when the phrase appears but. potentially it could be a merger as well.
asia20002 (asker) Nov 26, 2013:
Because it's a part of its name.
Frank Szmulowicz, Ph. D. Nov 26, 2013:
Nabycie is "acquistion," if I may point out - an act that automatically leads to enlargement. The uppercase latters? It is the name of the company, I believe.
George BuLah (X) Nov 26, 2013:
Why the "Capital Group" is written in uppercase?

asia20002 (asker) Nov 26, 2013:
I wrote "Enlargement ... Capital Group by including ..."
I would be much easier if the author wrote "Nabycie".
ViBe Nov 26, 2013:
But can help... ... translate into EN.
George BuLah (X) Nov 26, 2013:
Such rephrasing makes no sence in the given context

ViBe Nov 25, 2013:
Takeover? I'd rephrase the sentence using verbal forms: the Group took over ... a retail chain ...
asia20002 (asker) Nov 25, 2013:
Wcześniej jest Zakup firmy ...
Mogli napisać zakup, byłoby jasne.

incorporation of ... into the group of companies

gdzie "group of companies" to grupa kapitalowa.
Lepiej mi to brzmi niż expansion of ... by acquistion ....
Gdy grupa coś wchłania, wiadomo że się powiększa.

The acquisition (of the retail chain byThe Capiital Group)

Two viable ways of constructing the sentence, I believe. It is impossible to say whether this is a take-over.
