A ja dorzuce jeszcze jedna propozycje: prescribed reading / prescribed reading book / list
Mysle, ze 'prescribed' zamiast 'required' nadaje wypowiedzi lekko ironiczny wydzwiek (zalecano, ale sie nie zastosowalam)

Natomiast jezeli chodzi o uzycie czasu, to jednak generalnie zalezy od kontekstu - zalozylam, ze chodzi o efekt (obecny brak znajomosci lektur), ale moze wlasnie trzeba uzyc simple past albo nawet past continuous.
Jednym slowem dobrze byloby wiedziec z jakim kotem mamy do czynienia.

Reading Samo reading może być mylące, gdyż pod reading wchodzą też artykuły prasowe, rozdziały z podręczników, a naszej nieczytelniczce chodzi (w szkolnym rozumieniu) o książki. Stąd też mój nacisk na BOOKS.

Czas i tu raczej "Simple Past", gdyż chyba delikwentka już naukę zakończyła, czyli "I never did any required reading", "I never read any required reading (books)" itd.

Darku, IMO obie nasze wersje sa OK, ale nie dawalabym jednak ani mandatory, ani compulsory.

Ja tu jestem za required reading BOOKS, gdyż tak się to powszechnie określa w stylu potocznym, nieformalnym. LIST to po prostu lista lektur.
