English to French Tech/Engineering Photography/Imaging (& Graphic Arts)
I preferred the Xxxxxx camera as I insisted to stay on an open quality system, but also due to the fact that Xxxxxx is very reliable and it is easy to use, it gets the job done – Xxxxxx offers a wide range of possible backs and lenses, I chose the XXX back and it was an obvious decision and I chose 35mm, 45mm, 80mm, 210mm, macro120mm and APO300mm.

Dans le dos Ce qui semble corroborer les dires de Tony M. Finalement, j'ai peut-être bien fait de reposer la question !

Merci

A l'entrée "back" (et pas camera back), rubrique photographie, Termium donne notamment magasin, dos-magasin, et dos.
HughDESS (asker) Nov 26, 2007:
Ooops ! Autant pour moi, ça doit être un début d'Alzheimer...

Merci quand même à tous, et je vais vérifier lo de "magasin", pues ça me paraît pas mal !

Grazie mil

If we are talking about DSLRs, then they only consist of a lens and a body, which seems to be called a 'back' here; one reputable client of mine refers to these electronic 'backs' as 'boîtiers'.

However, if we are talking about the traditional style for medium-format cameras (Hasselblad etc.), then you would have a lens, a body, and a separate back (with the film or whatever in it). In that case, 'dos' is the correct term.
